Why do men lie?

All men do it. Take a cute little boy or a wrinkled old man – they all lie. Why would you ask? Well, a relationship between a man and a woman is based on some sort of lie. Doubt it? Then remember what your boyfriend promised you at the dawn of your affair? Love you forever and give you flowers every day? Huh, so when was the last time he actually gave you a rose? So why do all men lie? Some do that to feel mighty. These are usually not self-confident men who try to make their unrealized dreams seem true. Very often they start believing in their lie themselves and it becomes a kind of drug for them. Other men do it to win a woman's attention. After they've achieved this goal they start lying to stay in favor. Such men think that they have to be better than they truly are. The only thing to do is to take him the way he is with all faults and shortcomings and tell him you don't care about supermen.

It is worse if a man lies because he knows you are not going to believe him anyway. There are certain situations to his mind when a truth will seem too unbelievable and it is easier to lie. On the other hand, if your relation lacks trust, he may feel it's the best thing to do.

All in all, the one idea, common for all men, is a fear to tell the truth. They know they will get some "punishment", that is an offense, scandal or even a break up. So they come up with a story, which is more pleasant to believe. And it's up to you to decide what you like more: to be feared or to be trusted.
